About This Weather Station

The weather station is powered by a Davis Vantage Pro 2 and was installed over the dates of 13th to 16th September 2011. The data is collected every 4 to 5 seconds from an Integrated Sensor Suite comprising of a rain collector, temperature sensor, humidty sensor and an anemometer located as high as possible. The temperature and humidity sensors are mounted in a passive radiation shield to minimise the impact of solar radiation on sensor readings. The anemomenter measures wind speed and wind direction. The data is transmitted to a powered internal LCD console. A dedicated computer running Windows 7 takes the data from the console and imports it using Weather-Display Software. The software displays the data in a graphical form on the monitor screen along with the weather cam. The data is then uploaded to our website for display. In addition we have a weathercam running 24 hours a day using a Microsoft Cinema Webcam, the image is uploaded every 3 minutes to our weathersite and numerous other locations. The images are compiled across the day to create time lapse movies of the days weather.
